Painting articulates itself in the space between intimacy and monumentality, slowing down the rush of sensation
inherent in lived experience and holding a mirror to its realities, material and immaterial. It exists in a state of
becoming, a wild eyed and open-ended place where momentary impressions suggestive of landscapes or objects cross over and
double back with unhinged frenzy into the personal and collective worlds of memory, history, identity, and 20th century art.
